One of my favourite parts of hiking or driving in the Cederberg is are rock formations. I find them strangely fascinating. It reminds me of lying on the playground grass in primary school and making finding shapes or objects in the clouds. So, when I tell people I like looking at rocks and finding what they are shaped like, they look at me rather oddly. I’ve been told by many a travel companion that this is weird and boring.
Honestly though, if you are traveling for hours on end with nothing but rocks and scenery to look at, then where is the harm in savouring the rocks, making up a story, taking pictures. The road is long, taking a moment to look at something as “Mundane” as rock, can only make your trip….dare I say “rocking?”
